I'm in shock to hear about Charlie's passing. I loved him from the minute I met him, December 26th, 1977 and dated him for many many years. He was the most wonderful man. He'll always be in my heart. May he rest in peace.

I met Charlie in 1980 when I was working for Mike Noland. When I opened my own practice in 1981 it was my habit to watch Charlie in trial. Everyone in the Courtroom listened with rapt attention when he spoke. Even the Judges looked at him with admiration. What a shining star.

I tried a very emotional wrongful death case opposite Charlie. What a fabulous trial lawyer! What an honorable and likeable person!! I'll miss not seeing him in court anymore.

The world was a far better place with Charlie in it. His brilliance and the generosity of his good nature will be missed, to be sure.

Charlie was a great person and legal mind. Anytime I would ever see him at the courthouse, or mediation or coming from a restaurant, he would always have a smile and story which made me laugh. He treated people with dignity and respect; and i admired him for that quality. My prayers and thoughts are with Charlie and his family.

In 1961, a handsome and witty Marine named "Chuck" O'Reilly literally swept me off my feet. It was a wild and crazy courtship, culminating in two wedding ceremonies and later, two children, Dale and Mary. Chuck was a good father, despite having much of his time tied up with his studies or working full-time. I will always have good memories of this handsome, humorous, and intelligent man.
Chuck, you will be missed immensely. See you soon,
"Patsy"

Charlie was the most charismatic person I've ever met. Brilliant, funny, compassionate, fearless. I'm fortunate to have worked with him...he taught me what social justice is all about. Love to Dale.

Oh, Charlie, you were so charming and funny. I will never forget you. God's Blessings to you, your family and all who truly loved you. You made a difference in this world, and I was glad to know you, however briefly.

First met Charlie when my sister did depositions for him and his firm Voorhies, Greene, O'Reilly, Agnew & Broillet. Charlie was always a looker (as is Steve) and we had good times together. Lots of fun and always great laughs. He will sorely be missed. My prayers are with the O'Reilly family.

Charlie was a super talented trial lawyer. From 1972 onward, he was one of the best in California. I particularly admired Charlie's willingness to represent severely injured plaintiffs who had "impossible cases." Charlie won almost all of those.

Charlies was my friend through my teen years. He, along with his brothers and sisters, were a special family. Their Mom and Dad were a joy and also special friends. Charlie left to join the Marines at a very young age and then stayed in California to attend college. We all have great memories of this good looking, happy and bright guy. He was just special and I wont forget him.

My condolences to the entire O'Reilly family. Charlie was a gifted, brilliant, complex, funny and dedicated man. I'm grateful for having known him and for the opportunities he provided to me. He was an inspiration. May he rest in peace. Dean Petrakis.

Dad, you were as honest, decent and compassionate as any human being could possibly be. I can not imagine a better father than you. I miss you immensely and I'll love you always and forever. Goodbye Dad.
With eternal love,
Your son Dale
