REID, Charles Alvin - Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Mary Reid for 40 years. Loving Father of James Reid (Kaitlin) and Jenny Reid. Proud Grandpa of Nixon, Calliope and Frankie. Special Uncle of Shelly Swire, great uncle of Wyatt, and Kohl. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Evelyn Reid. Brother of Doris Holley, Jack (Peggy), Bill (late Lorraine), Jerry (Signe Willson), Edward, Roy, Evelyn Adams (Ron), Judy MacMillan, Ann Michaud (Garry), Diane Hulagrocki (Terry), and predeceased by Leslie, Shirley, James and Francis "Squaker". Son-in-law of the late Harold and late Genevieve Harrison. Brother-in-law of Jean Lidstone (Mike Greene), Glenna Wood (Rupert), Maggie Sportel (Ed), Bryan, Julia, Barb (Cat Kim), Gary (Karen) and Ken. Charles will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to join the family in a Celebration of Life which will take place at his son's home on Sunday, March 25, 2018 between 1 – 4 pm. Burial will take place in the spring at Port Findlay Cemetery. Memorial contributions to be made to the grandchildren's trust fund. A special thank you to the staff at the Cancer Clinic and ARCH for their care and compassion.
