Charles Robertson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 2, 2018.
Charles Patrick Robertson, 79 years old of Montgomery, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Conroe Regional Hospital in Conroe, Texas. Pat was born April 10, 1938 to his parents Charles Willis Robertson and Ruby Wakeley Robertson in Hope Arkansas. He graduated Hope High School in 1956. He completed 2 years of engineering studies at Southern Arkansas University before moving to Houston, Texas, where he attended the University of Houston. While attending school in Houston, he also worked for the Texas Highway Department. In 1963, Pat joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), where he trained to become a journeyman inside wireman. Later he received his master electrician license. Pat was to receive his 55 year service pin this year.
Pat was baptized in a Methodist church in Nashville, Arkansas. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas, where he led the young adults' bible study and Sunday school class.
Pat loved to fish and spent many a day in his boat or waders and fishing inner tube. He also loved camping and taking trips with his friends and family. He loved the outdoors. Pat was quite a handyman and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. He could meet someone at the gas station and get his life story while pumping a tank of gas! He was a character with a dry wit and country accent and always had everybody laughing! He is survived by his wife of 50 years Jo Anne Robertson, his daughters, Sheila Ogden and husband Scott of Coleman, Tanya Allen of Willis, grandchildren, Crystal Liles of Montgomery, Meagan Jackson and husband Drew of Coleman, Brent Ogden of San Angelo and one great grandchild, Erin Liles, whom he adored, half sister, Vickie Theise of Orange, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special "younguns", Laurie Linnehan, Brittani, Tyler and Brandon Thomason, Derek Taylor and Rod LaVois.
A memorial service is planned for 1:00, Sunday, March 11, at Metcalf Funeral Home, 1801 E. White Oak Terrace in Conroe, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Pat to the American Heart Association, a favorite charity, or better yet, "Take your family fishin'!"
