Charles B. Warburton Jr., 70
Retired NYPD officer who took pride in his rose garden
Charles B. Warburton Jr., 70, passed away on Feb. 20, 2017, at Staten Island University Hospital, North. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Charles Sr. and Grace.
He moved to Staten Island in 1970 with his wife, Patricia and son, Charles, settling in Annadale. Charles was a police officer with the NYC Police Department, retiring in 1980 from the 63rd Pct. in Brooklyn. Prior to that Charles worked for a period of time for Union Carbide Chemical Corp.
Charles took great pride in tending to his rose garden. He was also a great cook and his specialty was creating extraordinary seafood dishes. He enjoyed playing pool and darts with his friends and was also an avid bowler for many years, earning numerous trophies. He adored spending time with his grandchildren, especially taking them on fishing trips and trips to the S.I. Zoo.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia, who passed away in 1999. He is survived by his son, Charles, daughter-in-law, Maureen, and his grandchildren, Jack and Logan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Holy Child Church. Entombment will follow in Moravian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, 28 Eltingville Blvd (at Eltingville Station).
