BURLINGTON — Mrs. Charlotte Pruitt Bivens, 94, of 3801 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 9:25 a.m. at Twin Lakes Nursing Facility.
A native of Wake County, she was the wife of the late Thomas Alton Bivens and the daughter of G. R. Pruitt and Sallie S. Myers Pruitt, both deceased. She retired from Hinshaw Fabrics and was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Bivens Boozer of Cypress, TX; a sister, Lottie Pruitt Murrie of Twin Lakes Community, Burlington; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Thomasson of Newnan, GA, Laura (Brett) Schulman of Greensboro, NC, Amy (Dr. Michael) Patton of Opelika, AL, Meg (Bobby) Norris and Dee (Jason) Roghelia, all of Greensboro, Wendy (Alan) Fowler of Elizabeth City, Elizabeth (Jason) Hill and Christine Boozer, all of Cypress, TX and Paul (Shelley) Boozer of The Woodlands, TX; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jenny Bivens Jennings; her son, Kenneth "Bo" Alton Bivens; two brothers, Walker Leonard Pruitt and George Robert Pruitt, Jr.; and a grandson, Tom "BoBo" Bivens.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes Community on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 5 p.m. by Rev. Mark Menees with the family receiving friends from 4:30 to 5 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Library Fund, 3701 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
