WINDHAM, N.H. — Charlotte M. (Burke) Winward, 76, of Windham, N.H., formerly of Lawrence and Andover, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at the Salem Haven Nursing Home in Salem, N.H. following a brief illness.
Charlotte was born in Reading, and was raised and educated in Wakefield. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She spent her younger years caring for and raising her five children. She most recently worked for Smith and Nephew in Andover, prior to her retirement. Charlotte loved to travel, spending time with her friends at the Lawrence and Windham Senior Centers and most enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Walter Winward. She leaves her five children, Carol A. and her husband Michael Tremblay of Derry, N.H., Walter T. Winward of Haverhill, Thomas A. Winward and his wife Julie of Windham, Albert V. Winward and his wife Shirley of Methuen and Richard M. Winward and his wife Dianna of Atkinson, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Michael Tremblay, Derrick Winward, Darcy (Winward) Egli, Thomas, Justin, Cassondra and Rachel Winward; three great-grandchildren, Rylie and Lilly Winward and Carter Tremblay, a sister, Joan Taibbi of Wakefiled, and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
