Shirley, this email popped up as I was looking out the window of my beloved State Capitol. The Chief Clerk called and asked if I´d come back to work even though it´s been 15 years since I worked at that front desk in the House Chamber. But that job, which I thought was my dream job, couldn´t compare to working with my boys, Charlie and Jim Pirius. Now they are both gone. How blest I was at such a young age to work with 2 of the most incredibly talented and kind men.
God bless you, Shirley and take good care.

Shirley, you are in my daily prayers. It has been years since we were all together, but I still remember when Charlie would talk about you, his face and voice softened and there was no denying his unlimited love for you, his true soulmate. Sending hugs from Minnesota. Debra Fastner

I knew Chas as the Heritage photographer. Years after I left my position there, he still remembered me by name. This is remarkable considering the hundreds of people he met and photographed each year. He was a kind and gentle soul, and I will miss seeing him "behind the lens." My deepest sympathies are with your family.
