Cheryl Vaughan Cleveland Henrietta - Cheryl passed peacefully at the age of 94 on April 21 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Cutler John Cleveland. She is survived by her children, Tamsan Alix Cleveland and son-in-law Ginn Lee, Cutler John Cleveland and daughter-in-law Karen Lefkowitz, Alexandra Vaughan Cleveland and partner, Don Boe; grandchildren Ahn Wei Lee and husband Neil Ryan, Molly Alexandra Cleveland and husband Nick Coleman, and Samuel Cutler Cleveland; great grandchild Sophie Alexandra Coleman, cherished Powell nieces, and the best of friends who enriched her life for decades. Cheryl was a dedicated teacher, an open-minded, lifelong learner who advocated respect and dignity for all people. Cheryl brought understanding and guidance to the lives of everyone who knew her; she was our North Star.

In support of science, Cheryl was a participant in the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Interment will be in the Bristol Hills at a future date. A celebration of her life is being planned for this spring. In her honor, donations can be made to Planned Parenthood of Rochester or The Adirondack Council, two of her favorite charities.
