Mrs. Cheryl Adair Ravenel

Cheryl Adair Ravenel, age 80, died October 5th, 2025, in Columbia, S.C. Cheryl was born on August 6, 1945, in Greenville, SC to Archie and Miriam Milam Adair. She was the oldest of three inseparable childhood sisters (March Nichols and Caron Seebaldt). She was an artist, a teacher, a mother, and so much more. "Chere's" life was marked by her deep faith, her commitment to family, and her passion for helping others. Her childhood was spent moving across bases in New Hampshire, Panama, Hawaii, and Montgomery, Alabama. She attended college at the University of New Hampshire, Panama, and the University of South Carolina, where she met her future husband, Ted. She was a devoted mother to Mary, James, and T.R., always striving to give her best to her family. Her life was marked by love, dedication, and service to those around her. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Theodore (Ted) Ravenel; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ravenel; sons, James Young Ravenel (Janessa) and Theodore DuBose Ravenel (Lisa); grandchildren, Renee Ravenel McKnight (Darian), Reagan Augusta Adair Smith (Ben Monaghan), Jaxton James Ravenel, Justin Jack Ravenel, Jaclyn Jill Ravenel, Theodore DuBose Ravenel, Nicholas Wrenn Ravenel and Weston Sherwood Ravenel; as well as her sisters, March Adair Nichols (Neal) of Enterprise Alabama, and Caron Seebaldt (Curt) of Shalimar, Fl. The graveside service for Mrs. Ravenel will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, October 11th at the Church of The Holy Cross Cemetery, 335 North Kings Highway (Hwy. 261) Stateburg, SC, with the Rev. Dr. David H. Lauten and Father Michael Ridgill officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
