Chester Alarie Chabot Jr. (91) of North Reading, Ma passed away on December 22, 2019 at the Ridgewood Center of Bedford surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 31, 1928 to Chester Sr. & Helen Chabot, Chester would spend the majority of his life in Massachusetts, and would later marry his best friend and loving wife of over 30 years, Elizabeth Chabot. Having served in the Army during WWII, Chester was proud of his service to his country. Upon his return home, he enjoyed over 40 years working for the Boston MBTA, thus fulfilling his life-long passion for trains and locomotives. He will be remembered as incredibly hardworking and committed to whatever he put his mind to, and he had an infectious work ethic and sense of humor that would rub off on those around him. In addition to trains, Chester loved working with his hands, sharing the company of others, and dedicated 67 years to the Massachusetts Masonic Order, Commandery, and as Pansy the Clown for the Vermont Shriners. His years of service and commitment resulted in countless friendships, partnerships and comradery throughout his life. Above all, Chester loved his family immensely, and was the pillar of strength that kept his family together for many years. Chester has now joined his parents and his loving wife Betty in heaven. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will miss him deeply. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, December 29 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a service beginning at 6:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester NH. He will be interred next to his wife at the Riverside Cemetery in North Reading at a later date.
