Chris Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2023.
Chris Robert Taylor, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 19, 2023, in a Boston, MA hospital, at the age of 51. He was born on June 2, 1972, in Woonsocket, RI. Chris was a beloved son, brother, father, and uncle.

Chris had a vibrant personality and a quick wit. He was known for his sarcasm, jokes, and top-notch banter. Despite his cheeky nature, Chris was also warm, kind, and selfless. He had a genuine love for his family and was extremely proud of his amazing children, Keely and Alexander.

In his professional life, Chris made a difference in the lives of others. He worked at Northern Light Acadia on the pediatric floor, where he found joy in helping children. Additionally, Chris took pride in his work as a 911 Dispatcher at Penobscot County in the early 2000s.

Outside of work, Chris had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved spending time in nature, whether it was going on rides, fishing, or foraging mushrooms. Chris was also an avid reader and writer, even publishing a poetry book titled "Darkness and Love." His talent as a writer was recognized when one of his pieces was featured in the book "Fatal Distractions."

Sports played a significant role in Chris's life. He was a diehard Boston Bruins fan and always ready to watch, go, or talk about any hockey game. If it wasn't hockey, Chris proudly cheered on the Toronto Blue Jays in baseball. He also enjoyed cooking and exploring new delicious foods. The little travel that he did always put a smile on his face and full belly trying new things.

Chris is survived by his loving children, Keely and Alexander, his mother Suzanne L. Taylor, his sister Karen Soule and her husband Daniel, his nephews Daniel and Matthew Soule and their respective partners, Sarah Albert and Stephanie Soule. He will be fondly remembered by his great-nephews Jordan and John Soule and great-niece Sydney Soule. He was predeceased by his father Larry P. Taylor (Poppy), his grandparents Larry Taylor and Hilda Genereux, and Oneil Genereux.

Chris Taylor will be remembered for his wit, kindness, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Im sorry it´s taken so long to write this, but I didn´t want to say goodbye. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for sharing some of your favorites with me (Dunkin coffee and foraging for mushrooms) Thank you for sharing your words with us.
But mostly thank you for being you, for sharing smiles, laughs and love. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, never. Rest easy my friend

I knew Chris through the writing community. We shared similar struggles and he was always there at 2am when I couldn't sleep from pain or the struggles were too much. He was so fond of his kids and we had that in common too. I will always wish we had talked more and that I had gotten to meet the man who was so talented and resilient and kind.

Chris was a constant pillar of support to me when my son was in the throws of his addiction. He listened to my fears and my cries and encouraged me to not give up hope but to set and keep my boundaries. I will miss those conversations and the jokes he used to tell to lift my spirits.

Chris frequently sat near a cemetery, and there was a huge maple tree there. He frequently sent me pictures of the tree, especially in the fall. He said it was OUR tree, and in the fall when it started getting seeds on it, he had a necklace made for me from one of the seeds. He also had matching keychains made for us from seeds from that maple tree.

I was privileged to know Chris through his writing. He was a talented poet but more than that he was a wonderful man. I am honored that I got to call him a dear friend. He will always be my favorite poet and I will miss his greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Chris and I were very close, and we would text and talk frequently. We always sent each other little gifts, especially books. His nickname for me was Nerd, and mine for him was Dork. He signed everything he sent me with Love, Dork. I will miss him and love him until my last breath.
