I met Christina about 2 years ago when I started working at Life Care. She was on of the first nurses that I met that was kind and helpful. Throughout the years Christina has taught me a lot about nursing and life. She was a great nurse who was always very passionate about her job and her patients. she took her time with each patient and cared for each and every one. She was very dependable and dedicated to her job. She was always there for any of us if we needed her. When I first met her, she worked the night shift and she relieved me from my shift, I still see her smiling face walking down the hallway with her big gulp cup filled with Mt. Dew. No matter how tough things got for her, I can't remember a time that she didnt have a smile on her face. She's taught me that no matter how bad things are smoewhere out there thihngs could always be worse. Christina was grateful for what she had and I never heard her complain about anything, she made the best of whatever came her way. In some ways I admire the way she lived; she is one of the most open minded and nonjudgemental people that I've known. She lived her life and didn't care what anyone had to say about it. She did notmake excuses for her actions, she just lived and learned. Christina had a soft heart and she would give someone in need the food off her plate if they needed it, even is she didn't have more for herself. She was a free spirit with a big heart and I think that's what made her such agreat nurse. I don't think that Christina realized how much she actually impacted our lives at Life Care. Even in death she is still teaching me. I know now that life is short and it can change in an instant. Every day we are here on Earth is a precious gift from God and we need to take note from Christina and live each day with no regrets and like it may be our last. I am glad that I got to meet Christina and work with her for the time that I did and I will take what I've learned and cherish it. May you rest peacfully Christina, you will be missed by yours nursing family.

Christina wa the kind of person that rose to any challenge that came her way. She always had a smile upon her face no matter what. She had inner strength that I longed for. I will truly miss her smile and her goofy laugh.

The morning Star 3-11 CNAs were privileged to work with her.

As the family and friends of Christina frakes, I consider you a blessed group of people to have had such a special individual on your lives.

Christina was a special nurse who loved the nurses she worked with as well as her residents. She was a caregiver at heart. She worked numerous hours at Life Care, never tiring as she cared for her patients, and their families. She was always there to fill holes in the schedule, and do whatever needed to be done in the facitility. She was truly a team player and a member of our Life Care family.

There is an award at Life Care that is selected by a committee and given only to those who are highly recomended by families, staff and residents. It is the 'whatever it takes' award. Some nurses work their entire career trying to achieve such a high standard of excellence. In May of 2011, Christina achieved this award. She was truly deserving of this award and to see Christina in action as a nurse, was what Florence Nightingale meant when she spoke of an Angel of Mercy. I am glad I was able to witness Christina's surprise and delight as she was presented with this award.

Christina loved her children. Through thick and think it was very apparent that her children were her life and her pride and joy. You weren't around Christina long before she was telling you about her son and daughter.

Mother Thresa once said, " It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing." Christina put love into everything she did. I can truly say that during her short time on earth, she made a big difference in the lives of those around her at Life Care Center. I consider it an honor to have worked side by side with Christina. I am proud to have called her my colleague, fellow nurse, and friend.

Sincerely,

Tammy Hiott

To the family of Christina I would like to start off saying that I am sorry for your loss. As saddened as I am by your loss, I am so grateful for all the richness Christina brought into my life. Christina will be truly missed.

Christina and I met while working together on the night shift at Life Care. She was a Great nurse and showed so much compassion to her residents. Over the three years that we've known eachother, we became very close as did our daughters (Kayla and Te-Te). Christina and I were also neighbors and were inseparable. We woukd shop, swim, workout and carpool to work. When we went shopping together she would blame be if she overspent and when we joke around she would always say "you know I'm a blonde". My boys (Jarden and Seth) loved and adored her. If I wanted them to clean their room, all I had to say was "you guys wont fo to Chrissy's house" and they would rush to get the job done. I can hear her now greeting them by saying "Hi Babies!" With her big smile.

Chrissy's passing is hard on me. I keep going through my phone looking at the text messages that she sent. I also have a picture of us in the pool that I made my screen saver. I will never forget you Chrissy! You've always seen the good in people. you are a rare diamond and your glow will forever shine in all the lives you touch!

Forever Christina's friend
