Christina Marie "Tina" Rourk

Christina Marie Rourk, known affectionately as Tina, passed away on May 4, 2024, in Peoria, Illinois, at the age of 66. Born on September 14, 1957, in Rawlings, Maryland, Tina was a beloved figure in her community and a devoted mother, sister, and friend.

Tina embarked on a fulfilling career in Information Technology after graduating from Keiser College in Sarasota, Florida. She began her IT journey at Quest 2000 in Bradenton, Florida, and concluded her professional life at Caterpillar in Peoria, Illinois. Throughout her career, Tina was known for her dedication and the significant impact she made at every workplace, including AFNI, where she formed a familial bond with her colleagues.

Beyond her professional life, Tina was deeply committed to her personal interests and hobbies. She was an avid fan of NASCAR, enjoyed Bushcraft, and found joy in iPad games and car rides. Her love for storms was well known among her family and friends. Tina also found solace and community at Vale in Bloomington, Illinois.

Tina's resilience was legendary, especially during her two-year battle with cancer, a fight she undertook with the hope of spending more time with her loved ones. She was a kind and humble soul who left a positive impact on everyone she met. Tina was often described as a mother to everyone, providing a safe place and unconditional support to those around her.

She is survived by her children, Ashley Rourk of Morton, Illinois, and Justin Rourk of Parrish, Florida; grandchildren, Ayden (AJ) Rourk and Aislynn Rourk; her sister, Melinda Liller of Crown Point, Indiana; and her brother, John Liller of Idaho. Tina also leaves behind her cherished dog, Scout, along with numerous nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellen Francis O'Callaghan and Donald Cleland Liller; her ex-husband, Richard Chatham Rourk; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Tina was cremated, and her life will be celebrated with family gatherings in Tennessee and Florida in September. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cancer Centers in her memory.

The Neptune Society in Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements. Tina's warmth, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
