Christine Hansen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2025.
Christine Lynn "Chris" Hansen (née Breunig), 62, of Gresham, Oregon, passed away suddenly at home on February 26, 2025. Though she faced chronic medical challenges for many years, including type 1 diabetes and renal failure, she met them with resilience and strength. Chris was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed by those who knew her.

Born on June 22nd, 1962, in Portland, Oregon. From an early age, Chris possessed a warmth that made others feel at home in her presence. After graduating from Jefferson High School, she married Mark Hansen and had two sons, Ryan and Jeff.

Chris dedicated herself wholeheartedly to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones-whether at the Washington coast, supporting their endeavors, or engaging in marathon games of Gin Rummy. Her organizational skills were unmatched; she had a way of bringing order to chaos while ensuring that everyone around her felt welcomed, supported and cared for.

Chris was predeceased by her father Robert Dale Breunig as well as her brother-in-law Randall Payne, niece Angela [Carraway] Breunig and her beloved cat Riley.

She is survived and missed by her children Ryan (Belle) Hansen, Jeff (Raemie) Hansen; mother Connie Breunig (née Lukas); siblings Cathleen (née Breunig) Payne & Frank, John Estep, Jr., Melody Stafford, Cynthia (Jeremy) Owen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and her beloved dog Bailey who will carry forward the kindness she so freely gave.

A joint celebration of life with her father Robert will be held on April 5th, 2025 between 2pm and 5pm at Michelle's. Please contact the family for the address.
