Christine F. St. Laurent

Fitchburg - Christine F. St. Laurent, of 7 Alice Avenue, passed away Saturday, July 9th.

She leaves her husband Donald R. St. Laurent; two cousins, Jane Kwiatkowski of Spencer and Peter Sakalowski of Madison, CT.

She graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 1969, ranking 9th in a class of 550. She attended Boston University School of Fine Arts for music and piano from September 1969 to May of 1971. Christine later attended Ithaca College in Ithaca NY for music and piano from September 1971 to 1973. She also went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania for English Literature from September 1974 to December 1975.

In 1980, Christine worked at the Main Library in Worcester and served in several positions such as Library Aide, Circulation Department, Secretary to the Associate Librarian, and as a Supervisor in the Circulation Department. She also did word processing, layouts, and graphics for "Your Library Bulletin." She also co-lead moderating discussions of the Great Book Discussion Group.

In high school she played tennis and became Captain of the girl's tennis team in 1969. She was a member Appalachian Mountain Club. She loved Opera, reading, cats and dogs, nature, and wildlife. Christine also came to love watching and listening to Christian music, especially Bill Gaither and His Homecoming Friends, and a gathering of other Christian artists.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00am in the Horizon Christian Fellowship Church, 356 Broad Street in Fitchburg. Burial will be held privately. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg assisted the family.
