Christopher McLaughlin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 12, 2024.
Christopher M. McLaughlin, known affectionately as Chris, passed away on July 9, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 40. Born on June 20, 1984, at Malden Hospital, Chris spent his formative years attending Belmont Primary School and Malden High School.

Chris was recognized by those around him as a caring and loving friend, brother, and confidant. His good-natured, kind-hearted spirit made him a cherished presence in the lives of many. An avid Reader and writer and admirer of nature, he relished the moments spent watching birds from his back porch, a peaceful activity that brought him immense joy. Chris also had a passion for the color purple, which reflected his vibrant yet thoughtful personality.

Beyond his tranquil hobbies, Chris was an enthusiastic gamer, deeply engaged in Dungeons and Dragons and Zelda and had an impressive collection of Batman memorabilia. His love for video games spanned various genres, providing him countless hours of enjoyment and an escape into different worlds.

Chris is survived by his loving parents, Laura and Patrick, and his brother Michael. He also leaves behind a circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother Patrick Michael McLaughlin Junior, and his grandparents William and Madeline Hughes, and Natural Grand mother Barbara Comeau as well as his grandfather Russell G. Lecaroz.

Chris will be cremated at the Boston Crematorium in Malden, Massachusetts. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Irish American Club in Malden at 177 West St, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Those who knew Chris will gather to share memories and honor his life, remembering the man who brought kindness and light into their lives.

Chris was the center point person of our group who brought so much joy and laughter. (Sometimes due to his extraordinary beard length )
He was so beloved by everyone through his loving nature but also his thoughtfulness to everyone in our group. He will be sadly missed by all.

I only know Chris for a short time, working in the same building but for different companies. I remember always chatting with him about anything and everything. We never got to hang out outside of work unfortunately. I was thinking about him the other day hoping he was doing well. This one hurts. My deepest condolences to the family. One of the nicest most genuine people I knew. Rest easy my guy.

I honestly can't remember the first time we met, but I remember we just clicked. We had roles together in a play we all wrote in drama and he made everything so easy. He'll be greatly missed. Prayers to family and loved ones.

My deepest prayers Mike and his family! I remember Chris from high school and he was always the best guys since middle school. I know no words will ever take the pain with his life being cut so short. I'm praying that Mike and the rest of his family get through this tough moment best as possible. Chris You'll never be forgotten

There are no words to express our heartfelt condolences to the McLaughlin family. On a brighter note, here is a picture shared of the twins back in 1998. Only those who knew them well could tell them apart before they decided on facial hair to distinguish themselves. :)

Without Chris and others at the Globe I would have ended up in the looney bin. Luckily I got through it and I'll never forget Chris. See you on the other side.
