Christopher Rasnake Obituary

ABINGDON – Christopher Todd Rasnake, 32, of 426 Brookhill Drive and formerly from Bluefield, Va., died Friday, June 24, 2005, at a Wytheville hospital.
He was born in Bluefield and was the son of Winfred "Wimpy" Rasnake and Ruth Bandy Rasnake of Bluefield, Va.
He was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Bluefield, Va., and the Highlands Fellowship Church in Abingdon.
He was a U.S. marshal and former employee at Lebanon Tire and Recapping Co. in Lebanon, Va. He was a 1990 graduate of Graham High School, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Gulf War and was also in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Abingdon Lodge 48, a member of the American Legion, the VFW and a member of the Single Action Shooting Society. He also was a former employee of the Tazewell County Sheriff's Department.
In addition to his parents, survivors include wife, Lynn Heath Rasnake, Abingdon; sons, Aaron Christopher Hall, A1C, Langley Air Force Base, Langley, Va., and Jonathon Paige Hall, Abingdon; brothers, Scott W. Rasnake and wife Leslie, Plattsburg, N.Y., Tony M. Rasnake and wife Sandi, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Randall W. Rasnake, Bland, Va.; paternal grandmother, Flossie Rasnake Fields, Abingdon; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Linda Heath, Chilhowie; and his loving dogs, Max and Josie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va., with Pastor Jimmie Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery on Kimberling Creek Road, Route 612, in Bland County. Graveside services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Highlands Fellowship Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW or to the American Legion.
Friends may call today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va.

I was very saddened to hear of "Snake's" passing. He was a very fine man and i enjoyed working with him at Marion Correctional Treatment Center. My sincere sympathy goes to the family.
