ASHEBORO — Clara Lambert Neal, 84, of Worth St., Asheboro, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Carillon Assisted Living Of Asheboro, North Carolina.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, with Rev. Michael Holder officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Neal was born December 3, 1923, the daughter of John Robert Lambert and Kate Stinson Lambert.
A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Neal was for several years an assistant in the Kindergarten program in the Asheboro City Schools. She was a Docent at the N.C. Zoological Park, a board member of Randolph Arts Guild, a member of Asheboro Woman's Club, and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
For many years following World War II, Mrs. Neal was active in the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth Dobson and John Neal; a sister, Catherine Lambert Cox; and her parents.
She is survived by step daughters, Henriette "Hank" Neal Foster of Gastonia, N.C., and Lucette "Luke" Neal Pilkes of Paola, Pa.; step son, Fredrick "Fritz" Neal of Greensboro, N.C.; step granddaughters, Jessica Pilkes and Hannah Pilkes; sister, Margaret Lambert Wright of Asheboro, N.C.; nieces, Rosiland Walker of Asheboro, N.C., Alice Aubele of Warrensburg, Mo., Dale Klemm Walters of Pass Christian, Miss.; and nephew, Marty Wright of Charleston, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, prior to the service at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, N.C.
