Clark Wichman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 24, 2021.
WICHMAN, Clark Robert 58, of Tampa, died peacefully at home March 21, 2021 following a two year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, sons, and loving extended family. Clark was born February 26, 1963 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The family then moved to New York City and later settled in Tampa, FL. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Henry and Claire Johnson Wichman. He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 26 years, Marina Perez Wichman; children, Luke Wichman and Clark Wichman; brothers, Michael Wichman (Kendall), Matthew Wichman (Julie); sister, Merideth Claire Cann "Dee Dee", and several nieces and nephews. He attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and graduated with a degree in Psychology. For 30 years, Clark worked as an Automotive Advertising Executive, strengthening automotive relationships throughout the United States. Clark was considered one of the best new business development executives in the country. Clark started his agency career in 1992 with Dynamedia of America, a Tampa-based agency. In 2001, he joined the advertising firm of Moore and Scarry as Vice President, and was responsible for helping bring to market, a revolutionary new digital product, "Haystack" that today is used by thousands of dealers throughout the United States. In 2015, Clark joined the Intermark Group located in Birmingham, Alabama as Vice President of New Business Development. A kind and generous friend to all, he was never too busy to lend a helping hand, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the good fortune to work with him. In his personal life, his proudest accomplishment was his two sons. Clark enjoyed supporting them at their athletic events, playing golf, and watching football with them on the weekends. Clark had many passions including riding his motorcycle by the beach, fishing with his family and friends, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Clark touched the lives of many people in unimaginable ways. The support and serenity he provided others throughout the years, made him a symbol of strength for others. Although his presence will remain with us through the memories of the times we have shared, he will truly be missed. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL Saturday, March 27. Visitation will be held from 3-4 pm, at Jesuit High School in the Oliva Courtyard with a Memorial Mass to follow in the Chapel of the Holy Cross at Jesuit High School beginning at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Jesuit High School Tampa, 4701 N. Himes Ave, Tampa, FL, 33614, or The V Foundation: Dick Vitale Pediatric Cancer Fund, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC, 27513. www.blountcurrymacdill.com

Learning of the passing of Clark is a sad day for me. We met at age 11, and it´s likely he didn´t remember me. But, he influenced my attitude about the world and the path my life would take. He was a kind young man, who cherished his family and though I didn´t get to share, he was an inspiration to me.
The entire Wichman family are in my thoughts and prayers and may Clark rest in peace.

Deepest Sympathies,

Valerie Albright Sellers

I have had the privilege of knowing Clark over the past 18 years and always listened closely to what he had to share. He has been the definition of grace, courage, serenity, and never complained during the past two years as he dealt with his cancer, knowing that it would be fatal. He will be sorely missed by many of us that knew him.

Cousin Clark was one of those "Tampa cousins" we were always so excited to visit as kids - so full of life and joy! As adults, we were lucky enough to sometimes be in the same city working, so we'd grab dinner and catch up. He had a big heart, full of kindness. I'm praying for Marina, Luke, and Clarkee, and for all my Wichman cousins. Clark will be missed by so many people for so many reasons. I hope you're up there in heaven with my dad Clark, Aunt Claire, Uncle Bob, Chloe and Grandma Nyquist surrounding you with love.

Since I have not seen Clark in many years, my fondest memories take me to early childhood years when his mother Claire ( my SIL ) & I were busy mamas , having our first two children 2 years apart & the same ages . The photo I have added shows Clark ( on the right) & my daughter Tamara at our house in Detroit, MI. She will celebrate her 58 th birthday March 26th , while we celebrate the life & passing of Clark the next day. Another more current happening is when the Buccaneers ( known in our family as the Wichman’s Bucs) destroyed my favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs , I was more than a little distraught! My son Stephen told me to settle down since I should be happy Clark & his boys got to attend that game & it may be his last ! I will tell the world that the only reason I could be OK with that devastating loss is that my nephew was able to cheer on a big win for a team the Wichmans have supported for years . Sending love & blessings to all the family . May God bring His peace & comfort in the days ahead!

Without a doubt, Clark was one of the kindest, and certainly the bravest person I have ever known. I truly cherished our friendship over the past 40 years and will miss him dearly. My deepest condolences go to Marina, Luke And "little" Clark. May God our father ease the pain you are feeling.
