CLAUDE G. BEARD, III, 65, POTTSTOWN Claude G. "Skip" Beard, III, 65, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, at home. He was born in Norristown to the late Claude G. Beard, Jr. and the late Dorothy (Moore) Beard. A graduate of Norristown High School, he was a self-employed contractor, having owned and operated his business for 30+ years until his retirement. He resided in Pottstown, PA, for the past 15 years, and was an avid boater and fisherman who enjoyed traveling. Claude is survived by his four children; George Beard, husband of Susan of North Coventry; Mary Biehl wife of Mark, of Pottstown; Steven Miller of Pottstown; and Zachary Beard of Hershey; his eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Biehl, Luke Biehl, Jesse Bissinger, Samantha Miller, Shane Miller, Jewel Miller, Michael Beard, and William Beard; and great- grandchild Jaxson Anthony Bersalia. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane "Kookie" (Foraker) Beard, and his sister, Karen Beard. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service Wednesday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA 19475. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11a.m. Burial will be held at The Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road Suite 100, Balacynwyd PA 19004, or The American Diabetes Association.org.
