Cleva Marie Sanders, 81, of Krebs, died at Walnut Grove Living Center.The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Internment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.Cleva Marie Sanders was born on April 16, 1927, in Corpus Christi, Texas to William Walter and Cleva Mae (Blansett) Hobbs. Our beloved went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009. She devoted her life to her family, reaching out to friends and those in need. One of her passions was rescuing hundreds of animals throughout her lifetime. She was deeply religious and kept her faith in God throughout her 20 plus year battle with cancer. She will be remembered as the rock who kept our family together.Survivors include 3 daughters: Suzette Sanders, of Arkansas, Jeanette Terry Smith, of Kansas, and Annette Sanders, of Texas; 2 sons: Everett Sanders, of Florida, and Elton Sanders, of Washington; 11 grandchildren: Gretchen Phillips, Celena Sanders, Britany Hallman, Daniel Sanders, Rhianna Sanders, Jeromy Sanders, Patrick Sanders, Jessica Fisher, Trey Fisher, Michael Sanders and Kali Sanders; 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Etta Mae Blansett, and a son, Freddie Preston Sanders.Pallbearers will be Michael Sanders, Jeremy Santos, Trey Fisher, Garry Phillips, Jimmy Williamson and Sam Shultz.The family wishes to thank everyone who has shown kindness and care for our mother, especially Susan Old, Brenda Armfield, Misty Stewart, the staff at Walnut Grove Living Center, and Heartland Hospice.
