Mr. Hepler was born April 30, 1902, in Tamaqua, the son of the late Henry J. and Carrie Alice (Rodenberger) Hepler. On June 6, 1927, he married Pearl K. Miller, who preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 1963. He married Grace Haas on Oct. 21, 1967. She died Oct. 21, 1991.
He lived in Pitman for many years, moving to Shamokin in 1924 and Allentown in 1999.
Mr. Hepler attended Pitman schools.
He was a salesman for W.C. Hack & Sons for 35 years and for Jones Hardware for 12 years.
Mr. Hepler was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congressional Church, where he was soloist in the choir for many years and taught Sunday school for 50 years.
He was also a member of the Free & Accepted Masons, Shamokin, and Woodmen of the World, Pitman.
Surviving are one son, C. Edwin Hepler Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Allentown; two grandchildren, Michael Hartman and his wife Susan and Bryson Hepler; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Farrow Funeral Home, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 by the Rev. Richard Sweppenhiser.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Pitman.
The family requests that donations be sent to Trinity United Evangelical Church, Anthracite and Arch streets, Shamokin, PA 17872.
