Cody Lee Bailey, 20, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on November 2, 1991 in Daviess Co., Ky. Cody was a graduate of Owensboro High School and was enrolled for the fall semester at Western Kentucky University. He was interested in pursuing a career in either the medical field, art, or business. He loved everyone, was a friend to many, and was the type of person who never met a stranger. Cody was very artistic, loved listening to different types of music, going to concerts, animals, nature, and had raised a garden this summer. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Lee Bailey on April 22, 2008, a great grandfather, Elvis "Pa" Brockwell, Sr., and a great grandmother, Elsie "GrannyGoose" Duke.
Surviving are his father, David Lee Bailey and companion Susan West and her children, Dylan and Chelsie Murray, all of Dunmor, KY, his mother, Kim Crawford of Benton, KY, his Granny, Judy Bailey of Owensboro, uncle, Jerry Wayne Bailey of Owensboro, cousin, Brittany Bailey of Owensboro, great grandmother, Betty "Nannie" Brockwell of Sacramento, KY, and several great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.
Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, August 8, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Tuesday and after 9 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cody Bailey Memorial Fund for the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, c/o Old National Bank, 123 W. 4th. St., (or any branch), Owensboro, KY 42303. Online condolences may be placed at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
