In Loving Memory of Cody Alan Nutter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cody Alan Nutter, 35, on August 4, 2025 in Charleston, South Carolina. Cody was born on August 18, 1989 to Susan L. Bucek and Walter E. Nutter in Alexandria, La. He was a loving husband, devoted son, and proud dog dad.

Cody was a true and genuine friend to all who knew him. His smile and laughter filled every room he walked into. He found joy in cooking for those he loved, sharing his vast knowledge of history, and embracing every adventure–preferably on two wheels. He had the kindest and most generous heart and showed unwavering compassion to both people and animals, whether offering a helping hand to a neighbor or ensuring the safe passage of a turtle across the road. Cody's quick wit, humor, and charm touched everyone he met; his presence will be profoundly missed and his impact in our lives will be felt forever.

Cody is survived by his wife, Aubrey Anne Nutter; his mother, Susan L. Bucek; stepfather, Irvin Bucek; stepbrothers, Cameron and Anthony Bucek; stepsister, Charlene Webster; and his beloved dogs, Louie, Henry, and sweet Lucy, numerous aunts, cousins, in-laws and lifelong friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Walter Nutter, paternal grandparents, Roy and Barbara Nutter; maternal grandparents, James Lasure and Bonnie Nay; and stepbrother James Underwood Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 6, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Beaver Bar in Ormond Beach, Florida. Though his time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and light Cody brought will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
