There are some beautiful tributes from former students on the St Doms Legacy page of Facebook. Hopefully, Colette's family and Joan will be able to read them.

My heart-felt condolences to her family. I was friends with Colette when she taught with her heart at St. Dominic School in fourth and sixth grade. She's another saint among many in heaven. Bill smith

To Dick, Karen, all the Coyne family and to Joan
We were saddened to hear you have lost your dear daughter, sister and friend Colette. We had the privilege of Colette's company during our holidays in the USA when she brightened our days with her cheerful smile and unique humour, as she must have done with so many other people in her lifetime. For us there was 'never a dull moment' when Colette was around. Her memory will always remain in our hearts, may she rest in peace. With sincere sympathy from Kevin and Deirdre Jennings, Warrenpoint, Ireland.

Colette,
Instead of teaching the stars, you are now dancing on them. You added beautiful music to our world. We are a richer.

I sat next to Colette in French class at Girls' High. She was a warm, friendly person -- a pleasure to be around. I am really sorry now that I did not keep in touch with her. It was a shock to see this notice today. All that I can say is that I have never forgotten Colette, and that is because of her humor, her down-to-earth quality, and her good heart. My sincere condolences to her loved ones.
