Colton Lloyd Jones

Jones, Colton Lloyd age 19, of Rochester, MN, died in Rochester, Minnesota, September 20, 2010. Born April 22, 1991, Colton was an important part of many people's lives. His caring nature graced the hearts of all those he met and who were closest to him. He will always be remembered as the loyal friend, brother and son that he was. His intelligence was also a shining quality. His older sister remembers him being able to out- spell her when he was only five years old. He will also be remembered as a stoic and pensive young man who, although private, still allowed those he cared about to see his gentle nature. You always knew if Colton liked you because he would talk or joke around with you. Colton attended Jefferson for elementary school and continued at Lincoln Choice school through fifth grade. He then attended Kellogg Middle School. For high school, Colton first attended Century until eleventh grade, where he was a varsity lettered wrestler. In 2009, he graduated from Insight Schools of Minnesota, with academic honors. He enjoyed dogs, music, movies, history, weightlifting, and especially wrestling. He started wrestling when he was eight years old and continued through high school earning 7th place and all-American status at the National championships for Freestyle wrestling. He was part of Team Minnesota at Junior Olympics and he earned many awards in Freestyle, Greco, and Folkstyle wrestling. Survivors include his parents, Christine Jones (Weinandt) and David Jones; his sisters, Catherine and Corrine Jones; his grandparents, John and Loraine Jones and Teri and Doug Weinandt; his uncles, Daniel Jones, Jamie Weinandt; his aunts, LeAnne Jones, Laura Krueger; his cousins, Gabriel, Zachary, and Joshua Jones; his great-grandmother, Adeline (Lamp/Weinandt) Neuhse; as well as many others. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chase.
