CONNOR WILLIAM TARR
April 26, 1988 ~ December 19, 2014

Connor Tarr, 26, a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran, passed away unexpectedly as a passenger in a motor vehicle that was struck from behind by a negligent truck driver on December 19, 2014. He was on his way home to Washington to visit his family.

Connor was born in Bozeman, Montana on April 26, 1988 to his father, William Warren Tarr, Jr, and his mother, Leslee Fonner. He attended Columbia River High School in Vancouver, WA and excelled in varsity soccer, track, football and wrestling. After graduating in 2007, he joined the US Navy and served 6 years for his country, including a tour in Afghanistan. Connor honorably discharged from the Navy in August of this year and was currently attending Charter College to become an EMT with hopes and dreams of becoming a Firefighter, like his future father-in-law Sam Faruzzi.

Connor had a compassionate heart. He was dedicated to his family, and he had the ability to make everyone he met feel special. He was a certified scuba diver, and loved adventure and all sports. He was an avid Seahawks fan.

Connor will be remembered as a kind, generous, spontaneous man who always lived life to the fullest.

He was engaged to Gina Faruzzi of Newbury Park, CA and was looking forward to their big wedding day in June 2015 and starting a family.

Connor leaves behind his beloved fiancé, Gina Faruzzi; parents, William Warren Tarr and Leslee Fonner; his brother, Chance Wachholz; his sister, Katarina Tarr-Woepke and brother-in-law Fabian Woepke; his niece, Blakely Wachholz; and nephew, Elias Woepke.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends,
and all who were privileged to know and love him.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27 at Columbia River High School, 800 NW 99th St., Vancouver, WA, 98665 at 5:30 p.m. There will be a reception following at the Vancouver Barracks Military Association, 7607 NE 26th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98665.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Connor Tarr Memorial Fund at any Umpqua Bank to aid in the education of Connor's beloved niece and nephew.

IN realization I have already given tribute to Connor and I merely needed to say that it is Sunday and talk of chicken fried steak and Sunday Football. In his honor My husband, My Son and Myself are going to aspire to Football Season and just that "Connor Chicken Fried Steak Football Celebration"! I do believe that Connor would like that, don't You? In my previous message I said He wanted nothing more than to rest his head upon his Mother's shoulder to the left. To whisper in the love of his life, her ear. Than to shake his Father's right hand and give a Connor Hug. To all of his Family I give my sincere and open heart for your Loss. They say the good or the Greatest go forward. His mission here of courage and wealth of Heart must have been needed upstairs. Those stairs adorned by a grace only Connor could abide. Thank you for allowing me to share what I already said that learning from someone else is a gift. He did that for ME.

Connor thank you for loving Gina so much and recognizing that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with her when you asked for her hand in marriage. Gina was giddy with happiness which made all of us lucky enough to know and
love Gina, Connor's bride to be, so excited as well. Their future was so bright we needed sunglasses just look at a picture of them. The miracle is the love and life they shared; the tragedy is the abrupt end.

Connor, we miss you everyday. You never failed to ask how my day was at work or school, one of the million things we missed about you. Not seeing your camaro in the parking making this reality so real. Dan and I miss our convo about life, family and sports and everything else. CFS "chicken fried steak" Sunday football will even be harder without you. Connor is one competitive, confident, lovable and a man full of dreams. You are truly one of a kind. We love you man. I hope you know how much joy you brought to many many people. You are the man.
"May God bless you, Gina and your family in this time of sorrow".

As I heard the news of Connor and his passing it brought me back to the times I was able to watch Connor play soccer as he was growing up. The soccer community of Vancouver is a tight knit group and you will be missed and remembered by all who has had contact with you Connor. My condolences to the family. I can't imagine the pain that you feel but you have the support of entire community.

Oh Connor my sweet friend. My heart breaks for your family. I have such special memories of you and I working side by side at Leonardo's! You were the best dough roller I ever had!! Your smile and laughter filled the entire restaurant! It was hard to be your boss because I just wanted to be your friend....your spirit was contagious and you always were my favorite. I loved hearing the stories about your family. I've never heard a teenage boy speak so nicely about their siblings and their mom. To you they walked on water. You were so proud of your sister and her soccer skills. I always looked forward to working with you! It makes me deeply sad that your life was cut so short. That you will never get to experience being a husband to Gina and the father I I know you wanted to be. You excelled at many things but those two things would have been your highest achievements. You were the best Connor Tarr and I miss you so much buddy!!!!

You ALL are so LOVED.

Prayers and love to all who will be searching for Peace and Healing. May God's Love reach deep into your hearts to wash away the pain of your loss.
Sharing: A Native American Prayer
I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still - in each new dawn.

Connor I met you at the YMCA. I was working and you were lifting weights in the gym. As soon as we started talkin we hit it off. We had so much in common. Right away I felt like I had another best friend. After that day we hung out all the time, we played soccer, hung out by my pool, went to the gym, played indoor soccer. I look up to you so much for everything you've done and you are everything I want to aspire to be. You are such a caring dude and I know that you are with everyone who loves you. You even let me drive your camaro, only a true friend would do that, and you gave me a pair of navy boots. I will cherish them forever and always have something to remember you by. Your spirit lives on Connor. I love you brother. Until we meet again, Rest in Paradise.

I had already given my prayers yet I did wish to offer one more thing. Knowing just through the miracle of life than seeing loss I am grateful for being touched by one so thankful for his life while he lived it.

December 26, 2014

To those ready for another day, ready for packages torn open, Another rendition of "The Christmas Story" and Flick with his tongue on the frozen pole, feasts prepared, family gatherings. I cried openly upon reading about Connor. I could not stop crying. His message will forever be in my heart. He merely wanted to be there for Holiday with his Family. With that smile, that heart and his truth to his Family. His mission in transit to them all. I pray that those reading this can hear my sincere sorrow for he merely just wanted to get HOME. What a life. Be proud. What accomplishments he made. He not only gave of himself to our country but he really LIVED. He sought tough situations and bargained with life. His beautiful fiance will always carry him within her spirit. I am not a family member and please forgive me for being so honest I merely write for I cry inside for all of his family and for his Gina that lost a man of such beauty. I have never written for someone never met. Yet once more may I say, I almost felt as if Connor spoke through Me while I cried my eyes out reading and writing this now. He will forever rest his head upon the left side of his Mother as she says she loves him. Gina will always hear him whisper in her ear of his gratitude of faith in love. I am sorry to all of you for the loss of one so incredible.I guess having my Son his age touched Me so deeply I wanted to send my deepest prayers to all that are in such pain over your loss. I am so sorry. You are all in my prayers.Grace touched him and he gives that back to all of you and his contribution to his country. I thank you for allowing Me to say my true feelings. I am so sorry for you loss. Connor lives within all of those that shall never forget his kindness, his heart, his spirit or how he loved LIFE. If life lost can teach, I learned a valuable lesion sought. Thanks Connor. Keep smiling. Zimi Abel
