Her talk show Connie Martinson Talks books and her moderating authors speaking at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books was magnificent viewing for readers and authors, such as myself. She was gracious and never negative toward anyone. She gave me her autograph, which I still have (smile). Connie was one of a kind and the world of readership and literature is dimmer without her. Rest in peace and in God's Loving Care and book counter.

Connie was my friend from Wellesley. I will send a tribute for the In Memoriam page of the Alumnae Magazine.Connie loved the English language, its words, its literature. When she died the Los Angele Times called her the grande dame of letters in Los Angeles, with a picture of her in a book-crammed room. Connie´s email address was TALKSBOOKS and for forty years she hosted a cable TV book program featuring authors from Obama to Ray Bradbury and even me, for my book of poems, Catalina Eddy, and she actually had read every book before the interview. She always signed off by asking viewers to patronize their local library. I once asked her husband, movie and TV director Leslie Martinson, how they managed with two career egos in the marriage, and he said, "It´s simple. I´m the Director, she´s the Star."

Connie Martinson is the reason, why I developed a passion for reading.... when I saw her program CMTB. It totally made me start writing book lists of her recommendations and interviews. Truly a lady who gave every bibliophile 30 mins. Of enjoyment to cherish week to week. It's a Deep & Emotional loss for me, one of her greatest fans. My only regret is that I was never able to meet her in person. Constance you with be deeply missed, but always loved and in my heart everytime I read a book. Every book and bookshop will bring you to my mind. Many blessings always, rest in peace. Xo Shon

A very charming interviewer. She was a familiar, soothing presence at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books who could put the interviewed author, the audiences, even each individual at ease. Deepest condolences to her family and to all authors, myself included, who had the good fortune to see her show, Connie Martinson Talks Books" or meet her in person. May she rest in peace.
