Cookie Lee Whitehead, age 60, passed away on August 3, 2025, in Salida, Stanislaus County, California. Born on September 6, 1964, in Oakland, Alameda County, California, Cookie brought warmth and laughter to those around her throughout her life.

Cookie had a generous spirit and deep love for helping others. She was especially devoted to caring for Greg Herrera's parents and found joy in being there for those who needed her. Her kindness extended to her many friends, nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply. She was known for her sense of humor and loved to make people laugh with her quick wit and playful jokes.

A passionate fan of Raiders football, Cookie never missed a chance to cheer on her team. She also had a special place in her heart for cats and was known for her skill at the pool table-often impressing friends and family with her talent.

She loved bowling, going to the movies, amusement parks and going to the beach. She traveled to Chicago to attend Hamburger University. In the 1970's she traveled to New York to see the world trade center.

Cookie is lovingly remembered by her partner, Greg Herrera; step mother Valerie Whitehead; sisters Candy Ann Windschitl (and Patrick Windschitl), Ginger Marie Isensee (and Eric Isensee); cousin-sister Michelle Martinez; brothers Chad Chorniak (and Janice Chorniak), Berton M. Whitehead (and Julie Whitehead), Troy Whitehead (and Maggie Whitehead), Jeffery Whitehead (and Vonnie Whitehead); cousin-brother David Whitehead (and Cindy Whitehead); step sisters Robin Real and Renee Burgess; and numerous nieces and nephews who brought great joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother Brenda Mae Zaine, stepfather Robert Zaine, father Burton Jay Whitehead, brother Burton Jay Whitehead Jr., and cousin-sister Trudy Whitehead.

Cookie's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May her legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love continue to bring comfort to all those she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 7, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM at El Alteno Restaurant 323 Main Street Watsonville CA 95076. An Interment will be held on September 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Fremont Memorial Park located 41001 Chapel Way Fremont CA 94538.
