CORA MARRINER Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cora Jane Marriner on July 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Cora was born on February 13, 1944, in Salisbury, MD, to Howard and Esther Disharoon, who nurtured her into the warm and loving person she became. Throughout her life, Cora embodied kindness and joy, always ready with a smile that could light up any room.

Cora was a devoted wife to her late husband, Howard Marriner, and cherished the time they shared together. She was preceded in death by him, as well as her beloved sisters, Jan, Pat, and Emma. Though her loss is profound, she leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her family, who were the center of her world.

She is survived by her son, Bill Culver, and his wife, Eileen Culver, of Clayton, NJ; her daughter, Lisa Swain, and her husband, Gary Swain, of Mardela Springs, MD; and her son, John Culver, also of Mardela Springs. Cora was a proud grandmother to Sheila Melson and her husband, Frank Melson and Elizabeth Culver and Leanna Culver and a delighted great-grandmother to Kaleb and Haleigh, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Cora's loving spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She is also survived by her sister, Moggie, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and laughter. Throughout her life, she worked at Acme Market in Salisbury, where she brought her infectious positivity to her coworkers and customers alike.

Cora had a passion for cooking that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was always filled with delicious aromas and laughter, as she loved to share good meals and even better jokes. Her ability to find humor in everyday life was one of her most endearing qualities, and she had a knack for lifting the spirits of those around her.

Let us celebrate her life by embracing the love, laughter, and kindness she shared with us all. Cora Jane Marriner may have left this world, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.Throughout her life, Cora cherished the time spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She was the type of person who always had a smile for everyone, and her loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Aunt Coco as I always called her always called me Mary Cat even when I was grown and had kids of my own. Even when life got busy she understood and excepted visits when we could or phone calls. It never failed that she always had a recipe to share or something good to eat. She always had the best hugs and you knew she loved you without fail. I will always love you Aunt Coco
