Courtney King Obituary
She was born on August 20, 1987 in Hagerstown, MD to Mark and Jody (Needy) King
Courtney received her Bachelors degree from Roanoke College in 2009 where she was a sister of Alpha Sigma Alpha. She received her Masters Degree from Liberty University in 2012.
She worked as an Assistant Property Manager with Sterling Steele Creek Apartments.
Courtney was a beautiful and vibrant blessing to us and all that knew her. She never met a stranger and fiercely loved her family and friends!
Survivors include her parents, Mark and Jody King, Lexington SC; twin brother Tim King, his wife Alicia, Ruther Glen, VA., Her niece, Charlotte Annabelle of Ruther Glen, VA, Her grandmother Barbara King, Pineville, N.C., Her soul mate, Roland Grannum ll, Charlotte, NC and her beloved German Shepard, Jax; and also several cousins that she adored!
Her family will receive friends on Friday, 26, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, N.C.from 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
Funeral Services will be held at Garr Memorial Church, 7700 Wallace Rd., Charlotte, N.C. at 11:00AM. Visitation will also be 1 hour before the service begins. Pastor Randy Briscoe will officiate. Interment will be at Siler Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wesley Chapel, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family. Online condolences to the family may be offered at www.McEwenPinevilleChapel.com.

Sweetheart, It's been a little over a week and I still can't believe you are actually gone. I thank God for the 27 years that Mom and I had with you. Our lives as we knew it changed forever on 9/23/2014. I didn't expect to hear the words "Courtney passed away" from the doctors that day. I think I'm in a dream but I know that it's reality. I know that you are now pain free and enjoying your glorified body! I also know that you are watching over Mom and I as well as Tim, Alicia, Charlotte and Roland.
Know that you will be forever in our hearts and not a day will go by that you are not in our thoughts.

I just heard of the passing of Courtney and my heart is broken. I was Courtney's fourth grade teacher at Idlewild Elementary. Courtney's smile and gentle spirit always made my day! When I found out, I looked through my class pictures and there she was on the third row smiling. She was and is an angel! My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
