It is with heavy hearts that the family shares news of the fast and unexpected passing of Craig Alan Houston, age 63, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Wabash, IN.

Craig was born on July 19, 1961, in Rensselaer, IN, where he graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 1979. He was a member of 4-H and was active in FFA. He attended ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne, IN, where he received his Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. After graduation he worked in commercial nuclear power plants for many years, in South Haven, MI; Perry, OH; Pismo Beach, CA; Dresden, IL; and Pottstown, PA. After his career in nuclear power, Craig lived and worked in electrical, fiber, and technical jobs, in northeast Indiana for several years, then in Rochester, NY, for almost 10 years. He had returned to live in Indiana in 2024.

Craig is survived by his mother, Sandra (Merriman) Houston (Sugar Land, TX), sister, Marla Houston (Houston, TX), daughter, Tara (Houston) Bova (Indianapolis, IN), son, Tyler Houston (Union City, OH), 3 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Dean Houston.

Condolences can be sent to Jackson's Funeral Chapel website and Fairhaven Funeral Home website. A celebration of life took place at The Gardens of Matter Park in Marion, IN, on Sunday, December 8, 2024. A memorial service in his hometown of Rensselaer, IN, is planned for July 19, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at eMbers Event Venue. Friends and family are encouraged to attend. Per the family's request, in lieu of flowers or plants, consider donating to a charity of your choice.
