AUBURN - Craig F. Sanderson, age 69, of Auburn, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Craig was born in Reading, Michigan, on August 29, 1948, to Clarence and Clara Maye (Walters) Sanderson. Craig was a 1966 graduate of Reading High School.
He married Cindy Denning on October 28, 1966, in Reading, Michigan. She resides in Auburn.
Craig started in the automotive business at the age of 19 by selling cars in Fort Wayne. Through the years he worked his way up until he served as the used car manager and also the general manager at several dealerships in the Fort Wayne and Huntington area. In 1976 he established Sanderson Auto Sales in Auburn. His sons Chad and Todd Sanderson continue to own and operate the business. He led a life dedicated to serving others. Craig also had great compassion toward helpless and homeless animals.
He and Cindy enjoyed traveling and they were able to enjoy winters in both Naples and Northport, Florida, for many years. Craig loved the Lord and regularly attended the Auburn Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Northport in Florida. Craig was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Cindy Sanderson of Auburn; son Chad Sanderson and Diana Heller of Coldwater, Michigan; son and daughter-in-law Todd and Angie Sanderson of Auburn; daughter-in-law Christine Sanderson of Auburn; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Curtis Days, Chelsea Sanderson, Cale Sanderson and Reed Sanderson; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Days, Chase Days and Max Days; sister, Carolyn Craine of Dublin, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Curt Proffitt of Van Wert, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Cleona and Frank Van Voorhis of Conway, South Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Elizabeth Sanderson of Leo; and many loved nieces and nephews..
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Chase Sanderson, and two brothers, Charles Sanderson and Carl Sanderson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 2-7 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St. in Auburn. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Bill Weaver with the Auburn Baptist Church.
Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Auburn Baptist Church, 1700 Old Brick Road, Auburn, IN 46706, or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.

I am so sorry to read of Craigs passing. Cindy,Chad, Todd, my thoughts are with you. I just tried to contact Craig just before he passed. He was a kind and giving man who was respected by all of us car people. Not only we we neighbors in Pine Valley but he was a special friend. May he rest in peace
