Dan Goldman passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 two weeks shy of his 42nd birthday, after a battle with pancreatic cancer that he bore with tremendous courage and grace. Dan is survived by his wife of eight years, Krista Callaghan Goldman; their children, Jules Maura and Ella Keen Goldman; mother Bea Goldman; father Jack Goldman (Barbara Mink); sister Emily Goldman, and a large and loving extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Dan was born on February 14, 1971, in Ithaca, NY. He was a beautiful and precocious child, a questing and fearless adolescent, and a passionate and creative adult. He was a painter, a writer, a skateboarder, a connoisseur of all things weird and delicious, and a source of emotional strength for everyone he loved. His sense of humor and his thirst for adventure were unparalleled. He was a beloved and loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Dan grew up in Ithaca, and attended Ithaca College for two years. A semester in London ignited his love of theater, and he transferred to NYU's Tisch School of Dramatic Arts, where he finished his BFA. He enjoyed success as a stage and TV actor in New York City, but his intellectual drive led him toward law school; he graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where he met his future wife, Krista Callaghan, in 2002. After working for a major law firm in Los Angeles for several years, he followed his heart and pursued painting and the business of art. His artwork was featured in shows in L.A., and he managed two prominent galleries. His latest adventure involved a return to the law as an Intellectual Architect at LegalZoom. He was uncompromising in everything he did, and he was a true inspiration to those who knew him. A Memorial Service for Dan is being planned for March 2013 in Los Angeles.
