Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2020.
BERES, Daniel G., age 77, of Wesley Chapel (formerly Elk Grove Village, IL) passed January 16, 2020. After graduating from Chicago Vocational HS, Dan joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an loyal Chicago White Sox fan and a Fifty-Year member of Sprinkler Fitters, Local 281. Dan was a people person, known for his booming laugh and great storytelling. Always up for fun, he loved Las Vegas, horse racing, and cruising, with Cozumel and Aruba his favorite islands. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony (Tony) Beres. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Cindy; daughter, Diana Staar and husband Michael; grandchildren, Megan Danielle Boggs, Alexiou Beres Harris; Alexander Joel (AJ) Beres; and Jordan Staar; and great grandchildren, Ethan and Matthew Boggs, and Amir Brewer. Dan was a courageous pioneer in the clinical drug trial for Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm (BPDCN) which gave him 4 wonderful years with his family beyond the initial 3 week prognosis. A memorial service will be planned at a later date in Chicago.
