i had the pleasure of wprking with Daniel and Food City. Even after he left there whenever he came in he would always stop for a minute to speak with me and give me words of friendship and encouragement we have all lost a great and wonderful soul. Daniel was so gentle and compassionate, and his smile lit up a room. He had a gift with humor and a true talent with cooking. Kathy and I remember the time we were unsuccessfully trying to remove layers of old wallpaper from the house in Bluefield. Daniel told Jason he had an idea and they came back with a sander that would have removed the first two inches of stone from the old city building. However, the results were quick, dusty and perfect, and Daniel kept us laughing the whole time. May God bless your family and get a silly grin on His face when he sees Daniel coming up the walk.

Teresa, I am almost speechless as to what to say to one of my dearest friends. I am beyond shocked to hear of Daniel's death and so are my children, Michael, Kelly Rae and Marc. They all knew Daniel and loved him, as did I. This hit Marc very hard and I am sure he will contact you.
I am praying for the happy repose of Daniel's Soul and for all of you, that God may touch each of you with His healing hand and let you feel His presence during this most difficult time of separation and mourning the loss of your beloved son.

I have many happy memories of Daniel, but my favorite is of him in an apron, cooking breakfast for several friends after a long night at my house, insisting that he had found his calling in cooking.
