Daniel Dover Obituary
Visitation was Thursday, July 12, 2007, from 6-9 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Friday, July 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Larry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dover was a native of Colbert County and a member of Spring Valley Church of Christ. He was a retired crane operator with Reynolds/Wise and served in the National Guard. He was a loving man who loved his family and being outdoors. He never met a stranger and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his mountain cur dogs.
He is survived by his sons, Danny Ray Dover and wife, Lydina, of Leighton, Shawn Dover and wife, Natasha, of Muscle Shoals; his brothers, Clifford Dover and wife, Jean, Jerry Dover and wife, Faye; his sister, Carolyn Mauldin and husband, Freddie, all of Tuscumbia; 10 grandchildren that he cherished; four special nieces and one nephew that was like a son.
Pallbearers are Eric Davis, Derrick McGuyer, Devin McGuyer, Leon Crittenden, Steve Crittenden, Mike Chaney, Jason Devaney and Buddy Ligon.
Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia, is directing.

To Mr Dover's family--
May god bless you during this time of sorrow. I enjoyed getting to know Mr Dover when he was at Shoals hospital and I was saddened to here of his passing. He always had a big smile and a funny story to share. I hope it can bring you some comfort to know that he expressed to me how blessed he was to have such a wonderful and loving family.

It was with great sorrow I received this news of Mr Dan's passing today. My thoughts and prayers are with you Shawn and Natasha, Danny and Lydina. It is with his passing I realize we all about to embark into a new era of lives.
I am reminded of when Mr Dover ( your granddad) passed away and I was there working in Shoals Hospital, seeing the family each day. I saw the true character of your Dad. He exhibited great strength in his family's time of need. I am in hopes that his character will prevail in the days ahead through You all.

So sorry to learn of Dan's passing. I grew up in Spring Valley during the 50's and 60's and Dan was always a delight to be around. Our sympthy goes out to all his family and to his brothers Jerry and Clifford and to his sister Carolyn. Our heart goes out to all of you now and in the days ahead. May God bless and Comfort you.

As a youngster in Spring Valley in the late 50's and early 60's I have wonderful memories of Dan when he came to our house with my older brother, John Norman. He always had a smile and a kind word for a little kid who looked up to him. My deepest sympathies to the family.

I am so sorry about your daddy. He was a GREAT man! I have often said if only I could have half the heart Uncle Dan had. I want you guys to know; Our lives have taken us in different directions. but I have always thought of you guys has the big brothers I never had. I love you both!!
