Daniel J. Maisano

Kennett Square - Judge Daniel J. Maisano transitioned peacefully and without pain on December 10th in the arms of his beloved wife. Ultimately, Dan was another victim of COVID.

Dan served Chester County as a Magisterial District Judge for more than two decades, serving until his passing as a Senior Judge. He served on the board of various charitable organizations through the years and at the time of his passing was serving as the President of the Board of Governors of the University and Whist Club of Delaware. The Whist Club was a passion of Dan's and felt it was his second home.

Along with his wife of 30 years, Chester County Treasurer Dr. Patricia Maisano, Dan is also survived by his 4 sons: Scott Maisano Corneliussen ( and Jennifer) of Kennett Square, Dan Maisano II of Washington DC, Peter Eversley ( and Katrina) of Texas, and Adam Maisano of Philadelphia. Dan adored his two granddaughters, Remi Grace Corneliussen and Lily Grace Eversley.

He is also survived by his father Sam Castorani, his sisters Petrece Podlesney (Jim), Stephanie Johnston (Dean), and Lalette Cotrelle, and JoAnn Miller. His brothers Sam Castorani (Sara), Joseph Lesniak (Toni). Dan is also survived by his brother in life and in business Paul Lesniak (Mariana); and more nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles too important to forget.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dan's honor to: The United Way of Southern Chester County ( www.unitedwayscc.org) 106 West State St., Kennett Square PA 19348. These funds will be specifically used to make Christmas bright for kids in need and for families devastated by COVID.

Danny was a wonderful & honorable man. He brought joy to everyone he called friend. When Dan was in law school, I was his 2nd floor neighbor in the townhouse on Washington Street in Wilmington. Condolences to his family. He will be missed.

My wife Sandi and I send Patricia and Dan's Family "our Prayers for the Peace that Passeth Understanding" on the occasion of Dan's passing.

He will be missed. He was such a fine guy. The memories of our last 10-12-15 years together just come flooding back, enough so that when I checked the box here for Friend, I felt like I should be checking it for Family.

I met Patricia and Dan via a mutual friend, Greg Lewis, who brought us together to help with some business issues in the family's Franchisor business. Not much later, Dan and I became active together in the University & Whist Club, with our wives, and we were elected in "the same class" to its Board of Governors, which Dan headed 2019-20.

We really grew our relationship there, over beverages and dinners, discussions of Scotch vs. Bourbon, business and politics. I went out to support Dan in a couple of political races in ChesCo for the Bench.

In that "good faith network of trusted friends," Dan and I could refer friends / colleagues who had "a special issue" or need or problem, and know that the solution would be advanced. I remember another banker friend who still today talks about how Dan helped him via counsel / referrals with a sister-in-law's issue, and when he saw Dan's obit, he called me to remember / recall and lament.

For me, Dan really was one of those "special guys," as a good and trusted friend, who always will hold "a special place" in my memories and my life. Sandi and I send our condolences to Patricia and the Family.
