Daniel Martinez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 1, 2024.
Daniel Arnold Martinez, 76, Co-Heir with Christ (Romans 8:17) transferred from this temporary life on July 30, 2024 into Eternity to be present with His Lord and Savior, King of Kings, Jesus Christ! (Philippians 1:21-23)

Dan was born April 11, 1948 to Henry V. and Patsy F. Martinez in San Bernardino, Ca. where He and His three siblings were raised. He was a graduate of Colton High School. A Singer by love of Music, Dan was a lead performer of His own band named "The Royalistics" in His youth. He would later go on to glorify God and Bless many with that gift at numerous Churches where He Ministered and Worshipped with Trinity Life Center as the most recent attended.

Dan was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and it was His final wish to be buried among His fellow Servicemen. So it shall be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.

After having lived many "lives", Dan became a Resident of Las Vegas, Nevada where He lived for the next 40+ years. There, blessed with a fresh start and having met some Faithful Christians who shared with Him the love of Jesus, He was Born Again and His Life was transformed!

By the Grace of God and, motivated by His love of His Family, Dan was a hard Worker and a consistent provider which resulted in their much needed stability. We will be forever grateful! He was a Retired Carpenter of the Clark County School District. He was not only hilarious, with a gut-splitting sense of humor but a talker. During all His years as an Employee at Clark County School District, Dan shared both His Faith in Christ and His Humor with His Colleagues. We ALL testify to that famous sense of humor for which we loved Him. He was proud to be the One to break You when you were trying hard NOT to laugh. It brought Him joy! The last few weeks of His Life, He was still sharing that Faith with strangers; Once in the Hospital and Once with His Uber Driver on the way home from the Hospital. He said, "I didn't have the strength to argue with them about their faith so I just shared mine!" I replied, "Well done, Dan Martinez! That's all they needed."

Dan is preceded in death by His Parents and His Brother, Robert.

He is survived by His Wife of 37-years, Kim; Son, Matthew; Daughter, Alicia Snipes-Taylor; Grandson, Marlo Taylor, Jr. all of Las Vegas; Daughters, Linda Martinez and Annette (Maurice) Paniagua of California. Loving Sisters; Mary Sambrano of Beaumont, Ca., Margie Casillas of Chino, Ca. and Patty(Don) Degaugh of Colfax, Ca. Nephews; Hank(Dianne) Casillas, Javier Casillas and Andrew Rice. Nieces; Natalie(Clifford) Ozanich, Yvette(Taft) Kintzle and Nicole(Joe) Sabolchic and numerous Great-Nephews and Great-Nieces, as well as Great-great Nephews and Nieces, all of California.

Acts 4:12 says, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." That Name is Jesus Christ. That's the way Dan came and that's the way all must come. For all of Us who have placed Our Hope in Christ, we do not grieve Dan's loss as those who have no hope because we will join them Both someday! Hallelujah and Amen!

I know you are in a much better place, no more pain or more worries of the complexities of life. It is us, who are still grieving your absents. I know we did not speak often, more your choice than mine. But just knowing you were there was a comfort. We miss you more than you can imagine.... Love you always...Hope you are celebrating your Birthday in heaven

Today would have been my little brother's 77th Birthday. I will, forever, miss him. I miss his voice, laughter, and his stories of when we were young. I know that he is in peace and resting and that is all that counts. Sister Mary

I got to know Daniel when his family moved from the "Meadowbrook" area of San Bernardino, CA to the same area ("The Flats") as my family had moved to (also from Meadowbrook) a few years earlier. I noticed that he liked music and was always singing everywhere he went. When the original lead singer (Gabriel Gallegos) of my band "The Royalistics" joined the Marines I asked Daniel if he was interested in joining our group. He said YES and the rest is history. We had a lot of fun making music together for about 2 years while still in school at San Bernardino High School, although we didn't make a lot of money. Unfortunately, our mutual friend Gabriel Gallegos was killed while serving as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam before Daniel and I graduated from high school in June of 1966. Rest in peace Daniel and Gabriel.

Too little time to tell you how special you were to all of us. The little boy so full of energy and wonder. Always looking for something different than what he had. It must have been difficult dealing with 2 older sisters. There were troubled times and the good times. And than you found yourself in Las Vegas(of all places). It was right for you, you found joy and happiness with the life the family you made. I will miss you always and regret that we did not speak more often. I wanted to give you your space. You are now free of pain and discomfort and at peace with the lord. He has made that decision that it was time, much to our dismay. We will always feel it was too soon....

This is a sad time for me and my family losing my only brother. He was a character and made us all laugh. I was his baby sister and he teased me all time. We had many fun and crazy times. I know that he is resting now and that makes me feel good. Love, Pat Degaugh

I will miss my little brother very much. Over the years we had a lot of laughs and tears together. Our family was blessed to have Danny come back to us after the Vietnam War. He was only 19 years when he went to fight in Vietnam and certainly was not prepared to kill our enemies. It was hard for those young men to understand exactly why they were fighting. We corresponded during those years and it was very heart breaking to hear how he was feeling. He lost best friends, including one of his childhood friends, Gabriel. He told me he never knew who would be alive in the morning, during that time.

My brother had a beautiful voice and I am so glad that he finally got to sing songs to praise the Lord. He was a good man and he will be greatly missed by his beautiful wife and children. I will surely miss talking to him and sharing memories. I loved my brother, Sister Mary Sambrano
