Mr. Moeller as I knew him came to mind recently from a funny memory I had of him as a 9th grade English student back in 1995. Two other students and myself did not do our homework and he had us call our parents to inform them lol. Needless to say I never missed a homework assignment again. Great teacher that was passionate about teaching. In hindsight his class felt college to university level. Googled him out of curiosity and found myself on this page. Great teacher that impacted my education in a very positive manner.

He was the consummate gentleman. And a quiet inspiration, certainly to me. He will be missed.

It's strange how one's memory works. I, too, remember Dan as a dedicated and very competent instructor in Bloomington. He also was a great colleague. But the one vivid image I have of Dan was his car. He had a big, long coupe with an option I'd never seen. When he opened the driver door, the seat would pivot and turn outward to make it easier to get in and out. Quite a nice feature for someone as tall as he was.
My sympathy to his friends and family.

Daniel lived a few doors down from me since 2002. I got to know him through walking our dogs. He was a gentle and kind soul; always friendly and with a great sense of humor. I miss him.
