LIMA — Daniel "Dan" Charles Siferd, age 69, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at 5:34 pm, Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Dan was born Feb. 24, 1952 in Lima to Charles Dean and Wanda Marie (French) Siferd who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his sons: Aaron (Christa) Michael Siferd of Bismarck, ND and David Joel Siferd of Marysville; his brother Dean (May) Siferd of Houston, TX, and sister Beth (Jon) Salzwedel of Westerville, OH; and his grandchildren Camden Siferd and Addison Siferd.
He was a 1970 graduate of Lima Senior High School and a 1973 graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Miami of Ohio-Oxford. While attending Miami, he was in the R.O.T.C. program and his team was second in the nation in bulls eye pistol shooting. His enjoyment of shooting continued throughout his life. He then graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a fourth generation funeral director at Siferd Funeral Homes and also had his own business, Siferd Memorials. He loved his grandkids, liked people, enjoyed nature and walking in the parks.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 at the Eastside Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, with Rev. Todd Cosart officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.
