Daniel Slack "Boone" Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2025.
Dan, 72 of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on August 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born December 18, 1952, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, he was the son of Ethmer and Roweena Slack. He grew up with a love for family, adventure, and the open road-a passion that stayed with him throughout his life.

He proudly served in the Army National Guard and was a dedicated member of both BOCK (Bikers of Central Kansas) and the American Legion Riders, where he found a second family among fellow riders and veterans.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Randy Slack; and his grandson Devin. He is survived by his brother Bobby (Lois) and sister Jenny, sister-in-law Andrea Slack all of Michigan.

Family was the heart of his world, which include his children: Mike Anthony (Sandi) of Great Bend; Travis Anthony (Sandy) of St. Joe, Missouri; Kristy Bieberle (Terry) of El Dorado; Hope Randolph (Delbert) of Great Bend; Laela Schridde (Zack) of Great Bend and best friend Lana Slack of Great Bend. His legacy continues through his grandchildren-Adriene, McCody (Tyra), Allison (Samuel), Arika, Alex, Hannah, Ella, and Owen-and great-grandchildren-Matthew, Miles, MacKenzie, and Easton-who will carry forward the love, laughter, and lessons he shared.

He will be remembered for his big heart, his loyalty to friends and family, the freedom he found on two wheels, and a reminder to "Never miss the rope." His life was a road well-traveled, and his journey now continues in peace.

A final ride will be Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 - Brit Spaugh Park, starting by the pool at 10:00 A.M. and ending at Veterans Memorial Park, Great Bend, for a celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Golden Belt Community Foundation-Devin Randolph Memorial Scholarship Fund-1307 Williams, Great Bend, KS 67530
