Danny Snellen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 22, 2025.
**In Loving Memory of Danny Wesley Snellen**

Danny Wesley Snellen, 71, a resident of Eminence, Kentucky, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. A proud Vietnam veteran, avid marksman, and lifelong "gearhead", Danny lived with an insatiable passion for learning and an ever-present spark of adventure.

Born on July 5, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, Danny developed an early love for all things mechanical. Whether working under the hood of a car, upgrading a motorcycle, or sharing his knowledge with those eager to learn, his hands were rarely still. His time in the Air Force was marked by courage and resilience-values that shaped the way he approached life, family, and friendships.

Danny found immense joy in spending time with his beloved wife, Elaine, at their home on the Gulf Coast, where they made cherished memories attending the Cruisin' the Coast event each year. His love for classic cars, the open road, and good company was evident to all who knew him. His career with Miller Transportation allowed him to combine his passion for travel with his gift for connecting with people, making every journey an opportunity for new friendships and shared stories.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine; his sister, Sherry Green (James); and his children: Emmett, Tiffany McDowell (JJ), Mallory, and Owen. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Zoe, Blaine, Kaylee, Ayden, Anika, Chloe, and Everly; and his great-granddaughter, Navy. Danny instilled in his children the value of hard work and the importance of serving others-two defining traits that will forever be synonymous with the Snellen name.

Beyond his family, Danny leaves behind many dear friends, including his lifelong best friend, Ray Singer. He will be remembered as a compassionate and caring man, a loyal friend, and a mentor to many. His quick wit, warm smile, and generous spirit made a lasting impact on everyone he met.

A celebration of Danny's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to The Arc of High Point, a 501(c)(3) organization serving individuals with Down Syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, including his precious daughter Mallory.

Rest easy, Danny. Your road was well-traveled, and your journey will never be forgotten.

Hello, I met Danny through my Dad. They were both good friends. Danny let us adopt his 2 dogs, Roxy & Cosmo. I always loved his visits and going to see him. I will remember his laugh, and seeing him & my Dad work on vehicles, probably every time I remember him. I know he is enjoying his salvation!! Sending prayers for comfort, peace and strength during your time of transition.

We are so saddened to hear of Danny´s passing. He was the wonderful husband of my friend Elaine, whom she adored. My heart hurts for her & his family. He was such a kind & caring individual & will be missed. God has gained another angel. Our deepest sympathies. Bob & Kathy Benish

I enjoyed working several fabrication projects with him over the at Toyota. He also was an excellent student in my welding classes.
