Mrs. Owen was a wonderful human being, a beloved teacher and just a joy to know. Our son was in her elementary class at Whittier. He loved her, and thrived in her class. We are so proud of the work that she did teaching our son, and we thank her so much for her positive attitude and loving spirit. A life well lived!

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Darlene Owen. I have four children who all had the privilege of having Darlene as their kindergarten teacher. She was a true gem. Her incredible patience and genuine kindness helped to make her a wonderful teacher. One of Darlene's Christmas projects for the kids was to make a Christmas tree. Each of my children proudly decorated their paper cut out Christmas tree with glitter glue. Each year these trees are part of our holiday decorations as I proudly display these on the wall to recall some of their childhood. Of course, this reminds us of Mrs. Owen, as they always will. She amazed me when I would run into her around town, as she would actually remember me and my children! She was loved by many, and we share in your sorrow for her loss. May God's peace be with you always.

You all have my deepest sympathy for your loss of Darlene, and I am remembering you and her in my prayers.
Darlene had a beautiful smile, and it was always present when she would greet you.
