DARREN LANE CURRIE December 31, 1960 October 23, 2010 It is with great sadness Darren's family announce his passing on October 23, 2010. Darren was born in Cupar, SK to Janice Nachtigall (Currie) and George Currie. Darren passed away peacefully in the Humboldt Hospital, Humboldt, SK after complications with lung and bone cancer. He was looking forward to going to his home in Middle Lake with home care. Darren was predeceased by his grandparents Alma and Fernie Manz, Regina and brother-in-law Don Toews, Indian Head and many much loved Great Aunts and Uncles. He will be remembered as the consummate host to everyone, his love of family, childhood camping days at Luther Lodge and now at his yearly site at Struther's Regional Park. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther of almost 25 years; children Ryan and Alicia, parents Janice and Helmut Nachtigall, Regina; brothers: Marlow (Marla) Currie, Sundre, AB; Jeff Nachtigall, Saskatoon; Jon Nachtigall (Marcy Bast) and Dave Nachtigall (Sandy Greschuk) of Regina; Esther's parents Joe and Nita Toews, Regina; sister-in-law Darlene Toews, Indian Head; nieces and nephews Adina (Jeremy), Nolan, Alex, Sam, Joshua, Jonathan and Rebecca. Darren is loved and remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottawa St. & 12th Ave., Regina. Following lunch, the burial of Ashes will take place at the Wheatwyn country cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Darren's memory may be made to The Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.

When I think about Darren, I see his truck pulling up my alley. Dan and I would be so happy to have a well deserved break. We would sip on a cold beverage and catch up on all the local news. Darren was such a friendly man and we were always happy to see him coming. Darren always spoke so highly of his family, particularly Ester and Ryan and Alecia, it was never a secret how much he loved you all.
It is in the memories and story telling that the healing will begin. Laugh Often!
And remember that there is always sunshine after the rain, or as Dan preferred to put it "dessert after broccoli".

I am so terribly saddened to learn of Darren's passing. Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Esther, Ryan, and Alicia.

I'm sitting here and suddenly Camp Katepwa seems like yesterday when Rob, Dan, and myself were first blessed to meet our future cousins Darren and Marlow. I found a pic from Uncle Helmut of one of those summer trips - very happy memories!!! - and will add to the guest book
