After a protracted battle with cancer, David J. Adair died on April 18, 2024 in Memphis, TN at the age of 79.

David is survived by his wife Sandra Adair; sister Cheryl Blackmon (Adrian); daughter Paige Adair (Kevin Bennett); sons Brooks Adair and Elliott Ives; granddaughters Vivian and Mavis Ives.

David was born on September 19, 1944 in Birmingham, AL to his parents Joseph M. Adair and Beatrice W. Adair, who predeceased him. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama.

David retired from KPMG after years of dedicated service as a managing partner in both the Birmingham and Memphis offices. He was a driven professional with a great love of God and Alabama football.

He worshipped at Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN.

David requested no funeral service so no public memorial is planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society in his honor.

David was a positive person who set high standards in everything he did. He was a faithful friend for sixty years. I miss him and hope to see him when my time comes.

David loved God, Sandra and his family. He had a beautiful heart and gentle spirit. He was an outstanding businessman and enjoyed sharing the salvation message with many. I look forward to seeing him again some day in the presence of Jesus. May God comfort Sandra and his family.
