David Barranco Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 6, 2022.

We mournfully announce the passing of David J. Barranco of Phoenix, AZ.

David passed away on May 14th, 2022.

Born to Wanda and Julio Barranco, David took his first breath on July 10th, 1966. David was a force to be reckoned with throughout life, graduating from High School and the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

He worked at Avnet for most of his career, having lived in Denver, CO, Tucson, AZ, and for the past nine years resided in Phoenix, AZ.

David will be missed by everyone who knew him or had the pleasure of meeting him. He had the best one-liners paired with an unassuming and disarming smile that could put anyone at ease.

His favorite past times included being in nature, skiing the slopes at Big Bear, boating at Lake Powell, and watching the sunset over the desert sky. David loved holidays and spending time with his family.

He was the kind of person anyone could call if they wanted advice and yearned for a light-hearted laugh with his charming wit. He lived a vibrant life with more friends than you could count, and his nieces and nephews meant more to him than words can describe.

David was preceded from life by His Father Julio, Mother Wanda, and sisters Lorie and Lynn. He is survived by his nieces Stephanie Durham and Julianne Clark and his nephews Matthew and Michael Hoard.

David was a private person who did not wish to have services held. He requested cremation and that we scatter his ashes in places we felt connected with him.

"When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

I was driving near the Biltmore today and thinking about David, when I received a notification that his guest book had a new entry. Divine intervention, forever remembered, forever missed

I just found out today that my son´s best friend from childhood died. I had known David from 1969 when we moved onto the same street as his family. He was part of our life for all the growing up years of my three kids. He was such a kind and gentle kid. He was always around our house or our kids were at his house. He grew up and moved away, and I saw him only occasionally over the years. He was still the same, though, a good person. I am so very sad that he is gone.

So sad to just be finding out about this. David and I were best friends growing up on different ends of the same street and remained friends for over 50 years. So many great memories. How heartbreaking, you will be truly missed.

I am heartbroken to hear of David's passing. He was so quick witted and I loved verbally sparring with him. He was truly a joy to know. He loved his family and especially his nieces and nephews so much. You will be missed greatly David. Prayers to his family.

I Absolutely adored David, so much so, that my coworkers referred to him as "My David" one of the best people I knew. He will be forever remembered and missed.

It is impossible for me to put into words how much David means to me and how much I love him. He is one of the kindest, most caring people I will ever know. What I find myself missing most right now is his laughter. David was hysterically funny and he had the most contagious laugh. He could make me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe. I could use a little of that laughter right now. As I grieve the loss of my very dear friend, I can't help but look back and feel so blessed that we shared so many wonderful times together. I miss you David. May you finally be at peace.
