David W. Brown

David Wayne Brown, 63, of Bristol, Connecticut, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Plantsville, Connecticut, surrounded by his children. Born on October 29, 1961, in Meriden, Connecticut, David lived a life defined by dedication to his craft, love for his family, and a passion for classic cars.

A graduate of Wilcox Tech in Meriden with a focus on automotive studies, David went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle System (BFVS) mechanic. He further honed his skills at Denver Automotive and Diesel College. David worked for many years as a diesel mechanic at Trash-Away of New Britain, where he was known for his expertise and commitment.

David's love for automobiles extended beyond work; he was an avid enthusiast of classic cars. His prized possession was his 1965 Corvair Corsa, which he proudly showcased during car cruises and events. Summers were often spent immersed in the car community, where he built lasting friendships and shared his passion with others. He also cherished visits to Maine and time spent with his beloved dog, Ava Doodles.

David is survived by his children: Christina and Norman Dragon of Bristol, Connecticut, and Thomas and Casie-Lynn Brown of New Britain, Connecticut; two grandchildren: Charlotte and Olivia Dragon of Bristol; his fiancée Tammy Labrie of Meriden, Connecticut; and three siblings: Stephanie Luzzi of Orlando, Florida; Linda and Fred Dietzel of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; and Sandra D. Brown of Puiseaux, France. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his mother Bessie (Bridges) Kibner of Bristol, Connecticut; father Leland Brown of Pembroke, Maine; and brother Dion Michael Brown of East Machias, Maine.

Services will be held privately by the family. May David's memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
