Still say, going to call my dad real quick.
Miss you dad.

I am Judy Niemi Storm, a first cousin of David, 83 years old, and living in the Upper Michigan for the last 9 years after movingfrom South Lyon, Mi in the lower peninsula where we grew up in Southfield, and graduated from highschool there which was only a few miles from our dear Aunt Lillian and Uncle Herb and their children, Dagmar and David. How we loved to get together with their family. I haven´t seen David for a long time since my husband John and I visited their family in Northridge Ca. too many years ago. Wishing now that we could have seen more of all their family just as my sister Margaret and I do still since we live only about 8 miles apart near Calumet Mi. So sorry we can´t do it all over again but "God´s Ways" are not our ways as the Holy Bible teaches us. So happy to still have all the memories which are so clear in my mind. Sincerely, Judith Carol Niemi Storm

David and I always appreciated one another's down-to-earth, real-world approach to life, and the LORD'S Presence in it. We agreed that the LORD Speaks and Guides us through the reading of His Scriptures.
A good brother, in a good Brotherhood.

Both Sophia and I are sorry we can't be at Dave's celebration of life today. Sophia is sick in bed with a fever, so I will be staying home with her. Chris and Kylee will be there. I am so thankful for what an inspiration Dave was and continues to be as I remember his many wise words, but especially the words, "I am doing better than I deserve to be." We all can rejoice as that is truer now than ever.
My deepest condolences Kathy. We will all miss him very much.

What an honor and blessing to know Dave! I will always smile when I think of him answering me back after I would ask him "How are you doing today?" His response was always "Better than I deserve." I will miss his kind, sweet, patient soul. He is full and at peace with our Heavenly Father. Amen Jesus!

David loved studying the Word and was a great communicator in our senior study, Venturers and our FRAC small group. His wit and humor were delightful. I´m glad his desire was granted - to be face to face with Christ. His suffering is over. He is dearly missed by me and our groups. We will meet again.

Not sure who I will call for advice, yes I still called for advise, sometimes weekly, depending on who made me mad! Dad always gave advise on how to navigate a building Official I disagreed with, an HOA or investments. I, like my dad (scary how much like dad), always have strong opinions, Anyone who knew him or myself knew we were always right!, just ask my wife (lol). Just recently he was helping me navigate post-hurricane issues with numerous Municipalities. I miss you already and am sure I'll still dial before realizing, love you dad!

I was made aware today that David passed and is home with his Savior! David was such an amazing man. I didn't know him for long, but it didn't take long to see how caring and loving a man David was. He was blessed, and he blessed many in his path! Men who ultimately, in the eyes of society, didn't deserve it. He will be missed.

For 50 years, I was blessed to call you "Dad." You stepped into my life and never once stepped back. Your love, strength, and quiet guidance shaped who I am. Thank you for being the father you didn´t have to be. I´ll carry you in my heart forever. - Jennifer & Phil

My memory was not added, so I will try again.
My dad is no longer in pain and sitting with Jesus. He is with loved ones that went before him.
He gave me my love of fishing. He took us camping and fishing almost every weekend. He used to let me sit on his lap , and drive on icy parking lots. He took me on his motorcycle in the California desert behind our house, to catch horned toads and lizards. He built many forts for us. He coached my brother´s T- ball and built things for my Campfire girls group. I thought he was as the smartest man on earth.
I was with him a couple weeks ago on a Saturday, no nurses on weekends. He was stuck with me. He asked me to move him from bed to wheelchair to his chair in the living room. After about 15 minutes, he wanted back into his wheelchair. As I was trying to lift him up, he began to slide. His feet slid between mine and my spread out legs. A soft elegant landing, if you ask me. I am frantic and asking if he is ok? He begins laughing very hard. He says, I always wanted to try that 50´s dance move.
After about 10 minutes of trying to get him up, we are both on the floor laughing about our predicament. I told him we need to call someone, I am not strong enough. I went to his phone called a man from church. He was out of state, but assured me, he would find someone quickly. He said we have quite a team of men here for your dad. Sure enough, 10 minutes later, there was a knock at the door. It warmed my heart to see just how many amazing friends he had.
Dad you will be missed by so many.
I love you.

Rejoicing that my dad is no longer in pain. I am so blessed to know he is with Jesus, and his family that went before him.
My dad gave me my love for fishing. Taking us camping and fishing almost every weekend, when we were little.
He taught me to climb trees, and built many forts for us. He allowed me to sit in his lap and drive on empty, frozen parking lots. He would take me on his motorcycle in the desert in California, to catch horned toads and lizards. He was very patient with me bringing all types of injured animals home. He even built an electrical contraption to entice worms to come out of the ground, to feed all the baby birds I found. He coached my brother´s sports teams and even helped build things for my Campfire Girl projects.
A couple weeks ago when I was there visiting, we had one last laugh. It was a Saturday without a nurse on the weekends. He was stuck with me. He insisted on going from bed, to wheelchair, to his chair in the living room. After about 10 minutes in his chair, he asked me to help him back into his wheelchair. As I am standing in front of him straddling over his feet, we lock arms to pull him up. His feet begin to slip and very slowly slides through my legs and under me. He is now on his behind and laughing so very hard. I am panicking, asking if he is okay? Through his hysterical laughing, he says, I have always wanted to try that 50´s dance. We tried everything to get him up, but I wasn´t strong enough. We´re both lying on the floor laughing, when I asked, who should we call for help? I was amazed to see the support team he had at church. We made a call and that person made a call and within 10 minutes someone was there. I am thankful for such kind people in his life.
He was a wonderful father and will be missed by so many.
I Love you Dad.
