David was our neighbor In Pamlico village. Grew up with him & knew his family well.He was funny & loved that boat "Thumper"! You could hear it on the Pamlico sound roaring down the river. May he rest in peace & condolences to the family. He lived a great & exciting life with no regrets.

David was 7 yrs older than me, but was great buddies with my Uncle Andy Wallace. My Dad built David's first Speed boat Thumper, and when David bought his Fraz Flat bottom, invited myself and my little brother to be in his pit crew in Hampton VA at his first race. We had a great time, as I was 16 yrs old at the time. David's dad sold my Dad my first outboard motor, a 9.5 Johnson from the old machine shop down by the boat ramp. Will miss David and his racing stories. Best of wishes and prayers for the family!

I am so sad that David is gone. I only knew him a short period( 18months) but we spent much time together talking about his life experiences and learned all that he was willing and capable of teaching me at the time. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there 2nite because of work but can only imagine all the people that came 2say goodbye 2 a sweet, good hearted man. I love u David and will miss u.

It won't be the same...Our mother was very proud of having "six" children. Now we are five. But, we know we aren't really dead, we just trade this model in for a new one...
